About Our Team:

The Contacts Team builds some of the most data-intensive and widely used experiences within HighLevel’s CRM platform, including contact management, segmentation, search, filtering, tags, notes, documents/files, and related customer experiences.

Our frontend applications need to provide intuitive and responsive experiences while working with large datasets and complex workflows.

About the Role:

We are looking for an SDE-2 Frontend Engineer who can build scalable, performant, and intuitive customer-facing applications.

You will work primarily with Vue.js and TypeScript, building reusable components and data- intensive interfaces involving tables, search, filters, forms, and complex CRM workflows.

You will collaborate closely with Product, Design, Backend, QA, and other engineering teams and take ownership of features from technical design and implementation through testing, release, and production monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

Frontend Development

● Build responsive, scalable, and high-performance user interfaces using Vue.js and

TypeScript.

● Develop clean, reusable, and maintainable UI components.

● Build data-intensive experiences involving lists, tables, filters, search, forms, notes, tags, documents/files, and contact information.

● Integrate frontend applications with REST APIs and asynchronous backend services.

● Work with modern state-management patterns and component-based architectures.

● Ensure responsive behavior and cross-browser compatibility.

Performance & Scalability

● Optimize rendering and user interactions for large datasets and complex workflows.

● Identify and resolve frontend performance bottlenecks.

● Apply techniques such as lazy loading, pagination, virtualization, caching, and efficient state management where appropriate.

● Improve page-load performance, responsiveness, and overall customer experience.

● Build frontend solutions that remain performant as product complexity and data volumes grow.

Feature Ownership

● Understand product requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.

● Own frontend features from development through production.

● Participate in technical-design and API-contract discussions.

● Collaborate with backend engineers to define efficient data flows and API interactions.

● Test, deploy, and monitor features in production.

Quality & Reliability

● Write clean, maintainable, and testable frontend code.

● Build appropriate unit and integration tests.

● Participate actively in code reviews.

● Debug and resolve customer-facing production issues.

● Improve the performance, reliability, accessibility, and usability of existing experiences.

● Contribute to frontend monitoring and observability.

Required Skills & Experience:

● 3+ years of hands-on frontend software development experience.

● AI-first approach to design, development, testing, debugging, and engineering productivity.

● Strong JavaScript and TypeScript fundamentals.

● Strong hands-on experience with Vue.js, React, Angular, or another modern component-based frontend framework.

● Strong understanding of HTML and CSS.

● Experience building reusable and scalable component-based applications.

● Experience consuming and integrating with REST APIs.

● Experience with frontend state-management patterns and libraries.

● Good understanding of asynchronous programming and data handling.

● Experience building responsive and data-heavy web applications.

● Understanding of frontend performance optimization techniques.

● Experience with Git, CI/CD, and automated testing.

● Strong frontend debugging and problem-solving skills.

● Ability to independently deliver medium-complexity features from development through production.

Nice to have:

● Experience working on high-scale SaaS products.

● Experience with Vue 2/Vue 3 or similar modern frontend frameworks.

● Experience with state-management solutions such as Pinia, Vuex, Redux, Zustand, or equivalent.

● Experience with modern build tooling such as Vite, Webpack, or Rollup.

● Experience with Micro-Frontend architecture.

● Familiarity with Elasticsearch/OpenSearch-backed search experiences.

● Experience with real-time or event-driven UI.

● Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, and GCP or other cloud platforms.

● Understanding of Accessibility (a11y) and Internationalization (i18n).

● Familiarity with frontend observability and monitoring tools.
