About this role

Position Summary

This position is responsible for cutting and properly insulating coil rings, setting up winding machines (both wire and coil), winding layer and random wound wire coils, winding strap wound coils, cold welding aluminum coils, soldering and brazing of copper coils and lead wires, connecting wire with crimp connectors, and following engineering drawings and shop/quality practices for properly insulating the magnets and leads. 

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Understand the daily job board and the production schedule.
  • Produce coils in a high quality, timely manner per engineering drawings and quality/shop practices.
  • Report stock shortages and / or overages to purchasing and stock room.
  • Cut insulation and nomex as required to size per engineering drawings.
  • Wire and wind coils per engineering requirements and drawings.
  • Engage quality, engineering and supervisors as necessary to ensure the product is manufactured properly to drawings and specifications.
  • Utilize proper tools and assembly methods (torque wrenches, seal drivers, etc.).
  • Notify production supervisor and safety coordinator of any safety concerns or accidents – including damage to finished goods.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area with proper tools.


Required Skills

  • Understand how to read engineering drawings and BOM.
  • Capable of lifting 50 lbs, 10 times per shift.
  • Capable of lifting 100 lbs, 5 times per shift.
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
  • Maintain a valid fork truck license and crane training certificate.
