Happy to Help Caregiving is hiring a PRN/Part-Time Registered Nurse (RN) to provide oversight and support for Veteran clients. We love our Veterans and are looking for a nurse who shares that passion to help them remain independent at home in Our Marion County & our Surrounding areas.
This position involves completing intake assessments, creating VA-compliant care plans, submitting requests for increased hours when needed, training caregivers, and performing regular client check-ins. With your clinical expertise, you will ensure Veterans receive safe, compassionate, and effective care while supporting our team in maintaining consistent, high-quality service.

Key Responsibilities
Client Intakes & Care Planning
- Conduct comprehensive in-home nursing assessments (head-to-toe) for new Veteran clients.
- Create individualized plans of care using agency templates.
- Document visit frequency, care goals, interventions, and risk-prevention strategies.
Ongoing Client Support
- Perform monthly in-home visits with assigned clients.
- Weekly/Biweekly Telehealth Calls
- Renew care plans every 6–12 months.
- Request additional service hours when a client’s condition declines.
Caregiver Training
- Provide practical, hands-on training for caregivers when needed (e.g., safe transfers, shower assistance, Hoyer lift use).
Collaboration & Compliance
- Partner with the Operating Director and caregiving staff to ensure services meet VA requirements.
- Maintain thorough and secure documentation in the agency’s electronic records system.
Requirements
- Licensure: Active, unencumbered RN license in West Virginia or compact state.
- Skills: Strong assessment, documentation, and communication abilities.
- Transportation: Dependable transportation for travel to client homes.
- Experience: Prior experience with Veterans or older adults preferred.
Schedule & Hours
- Flexible, PRN Role: Very part-time role with hours based on client needs.
- Daytime Availability: Required for in-home visits (no evening or weekend scheduling required).
