About this role

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in data analysis, including identifying trends, generating summary statistics, and drawing insights from quantitative and qualitative data.
  • 2 years of experience in Data Science, Applied AI, or similar technical roles.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience or familiarity with one or more of the following languages: SQL, R, Python, or C++.
  • Experience in deriving actionable insights, root causes, and intelligence from complex data sources across cybersecurity or anti-fraud, protecting users against cyber threats, and using AI to automate complex processes or operations
  • Ability to understand complex engineering systems and processes.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills and the ability to influence cross-functionally at various levels.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills with attention to detail and focus on getting things done.

About the job:

Trust & Safety team members are tasked with identifying and taking on the biggest problems that challenge the safety and integrity of our products. They use technical know-how, excellent problem-solving skills, user insights, and proactive communication to protect users and our partners from abuse across Google products like Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. On this team, you're a big-picture thinker and strategic team-player with a passion for doing what’s right. You work globally and cross-functionally with Google engineers and product managers to identify and fight abuse and fraud cases at Google speed - with urgency. You will join a team of engineering analysts dedicated to protecting Google accounts and products from emerging threats. In this role, you will be at the cross-roads of cyber-security and AI, designing and implementing machine learning models and AI-powered agents to solve some of our most critical business challenges.

We partner with teams across Google to deliver bold solutions in abuse areas such as malware, spam and account hijacking. A team of Analysts, Policy Specialists, Engineers, and Program Managers, we work to reduce risk and fight abuse across all of Google’s products, protecting our users, advertisers, and publishers across the globe in over 40 languages.

Responsibilities:

  • Build a new AI-based capability leveraging our Transformers-based detection system to evolve and automate Incident Response, while generating threat intelligence that is relevant to protect Google accounts.
  • Transform, automate and scale up our team processes by developing AI Agents.Automate a large fraction of our operational workload, like alert generation and incident analysis, using techniques derived from ML, LLMs, operations research.
  • Apply our threat intelligence to be ready to respond to new adversarial campaigns.
  • Manage the response to incidents targeting Google Accounts, including the special response in case of severe incidents in collaboration with other partner teams.
  • Work with our Operations team to scale the operational work required to protect Google accounts, e.g, managing low severity escalations and alerts, and maintaining the ground truth quality. Provide the training and work to get tooling improvements when needed.
