Position Overview
We are seeking a Vice President, Solutions Specialist to join our RIA Custody team. In this role, you will serve as the critical bridge between our institutional-grade capabilities and independent financial advisors serving High-Net-Worth clients.
As a trusted partner, you will extend a deep, hands-on knowledge of capital markets, including equity derivatives, structured products, and long/short SMAs, combined with proven experience with complex hedging, monetization, and customized banking and lending solutions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Client Engagement, Marketing & Growth Initiatives
- Deliver Tailored Wealth Advisory Solutions: Serve as the dedicated subject matter expert for financial advisors, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders as well as marketing to design institutional-grade capital markets solutions and educational resources for HNW clients.
- Relationship Management and Growth: Engage existing clients to identify cross-divisional opportunities across the broader Goldman Sachs, deepening wallet share, accelerating account growth, and securing long-term client retention.
2. Asset Management, Alternative Investment & Capital Markets Solutions
- Educate advisors on strategies for concentrated equity holdings and complex derivative-based solutions, including equity collars, variable prepaid forwards, exchange funds, and covered call writing programs to advisors.
- Collaborate with trading desks to present bespoke structured notes solutions that align with specific advisor market outlooks and risk-return objectives.
- Drive advisor awareness of to the firm’s private market offerings, including private equity, private credit, real estate, and hedge funds.
- Partner with GS Asset Management teams to support delivery of customized solutions.
3. Implementation Best Practices & Operational Excellence
- Establish, refine, and help implement best practices to help RIAs optimize the way they engage with GS.
- Drive operational efficiency by collaborating with technology and operations teams to streamline product access and workflows.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field. An MBA, CFA, or CAIA designation is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in capital markets, structured products, private wealth management, or investment banking.
- Licensing: Active FINRA Series 7 and 63 or 66 licenses are required.
- Technical Skills:
- Deep understanding of the products most commonly used by RIAs.
- Strong familiarity with alternative asset classes and institutional portfolio construction.
- Interpersonal Skills: Looking for a proven relationship-builder with willingness to travel to meet clients and prospects face-to-face. Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with a proven ability to translate highly complex financial concepts into actionable strategies for advisors and clients.
Salary Range
The expected base salary for this New York, NY, United States-based position is $150000-$300000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
