As an Biotechnology Intern (m/f/d) in Science & Technology of Givaudan’s Taste & Wellbeing Division, you will support the team in the process development for flavour production. You’ll be contributing to our foundational research with plant cell cultures and you’ll perform, characterize, and optimize bioprocesses such as enzymatic reactions or microbial fermentations at lab and pilot scale. This internship is for a period of 12 months and is based in Kemptthal.

Your responsibilities:
- Participating in one or more research projects for natural flavour compounds
- Lab work with plant cell lines including maintenance and preparation of media
- Developing and testing protocols for the long-time storage of plant cell lines
- Planning, conducting, and documenting experiments from lab to pilot scale
- Preparing prototypes for analyses or tastings
- Evaluating data and presenting conclusions in project meetings
- Collaborating with colleagues across different teams and functions
The profile we are looking for
We are looking for a graduate passionate about hands-on work in a lab and eager to learn and grow in a team of Scientists and Engineers.
- Bachelor or Master in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry or comparable field
- Experience working with cells under sterile conditions is required
- Previous experience with plant cell cultures is considered a strong asset
- Strong technical affinity and skilled in equipment handling
- Ambitious and results-oriented
- Curious to develop new and unprecedented routes towards technical solutions
- Ability to collaborate and communicate as a team player in a multicultural environment
- Good English skills are required and German skills welcomed
