Access Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Access Engineer with expertise in wireless and network technologies to join our Network Operations team. The Access Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining access networks, focusing on wireless technologies and network infrastructure. The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of wireless protocols, network security, and network optimization techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design and Deployment:
   
• Designing and implementing wireless access networks, including Wi-Fi and other wireless technologies.
  
• Deploying network infrastructure components and ensuring optimal network performance.
  
2. Network Configuration:
   
• Configuring access points, routers, switches, and other network devices for efficient data transmission.
  
• Implementing network security measures to protect data and network resources.
  
3. Wireless Optimization:
   
• Optimizing wireless networks for improved coverage, signal strength, and reliability.
  
• Conducting site surveys and performance testing to identify and resolve network issues.
  
4. Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
   
• Monitoring network performance and identifying potential bottlenecks or security vulnerabilities.
  
• Troubleshooting network outages, connectivity issues, and performance degradation.
  
5. Network Documentation:
   
• Documenting network designs, configurations, and changes for future reference.
  
• Maintaining accurate network diagrams, equipment inventory, and network documentation.
  
6. Collaboration and Support:
   
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support network integration and infrastructure projects.
  
• Providing technical support and guidance to internal teams and stakeholders.
  
7. Research and Development:
   
• Staying updated with the latest wireless and network technologies, trends, and best practices.
  
• Participating in research and development projects to improve network efficiency and performance.
  

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  
• Certification in wireless networking and network technologies (e.g., CCNA, CCNP) preferred.
  
• Proven experience in designing and deploying wireless access networks.
  
• Strong understanding of network protocols, routing, and switching technologies.
  
• Proficiency in network monitoring tools and troubleshooting techniques.
  
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
