Responsibilities:

Estimating, Quotations & Documentation

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates and quotations by reviewing customer specifications, drawings, data sheets, and other related documents.
  • Prepare and submit required customer documentation; obtain and organize required documentation from manufacturers and suppliers.
  • Size and select technical products and services that align with customer requirements, application conditions, lead times, and commercial expectations.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and timely quote, order, and customer records in accordance with company processes and policies.

Technical Sales & Customer Solutions

  • Explain product applications, features, benefits, and available options to gain customer acceptance and support sound purchasing decisions.
  • Assist customers with special orders and specialty applications, engaging manufacturers, suppliers, or outside sales resources when needed.
  • Resolve product issues and determine product needs by phone or email using effective discovery, technical knowledge, and sound judgment.
  • Develop in-depth product and application knowledge and stay current on product changes, new offerings, and supplier capabilities.
  • Identify current and future customer equipment requirements and surface cross-sell, replacement, upgrade, and new-project opportunities.

Customer & Sales Team Support

  • Respond promptly and professionally to phone and email correspondence from customers, manufacturers, suppliers, and outside sales team members.
  • Establish and maintain strong rapport with customers, principals, suppliers, and outside sales staff.
  • Work in concert with the outside sales team by sharing qualified leads and opportunities, coordinating follow-up, and prioritizing the growth of new accounts.
  • Adhere to established sales processes and policies that support company sales, margin, service, and revenue goals.
  • Actively participate in sales meetings, product training, and other development opportunities.

Order & Project Coordination

  • Coordinate internal resources—including purchasing, sales, shipping, and receiving—as the primary project coordinator for assigned quotes and orders.
  • Expedite orders and maintain proactive contact with customers and suppliers regarding status, lead times, documentation, and delivery.
  • Resolve order problems related to delivery, product availability, specifications, or paperwork directly with customers and suppliers.
  • Communicate risks, changes, and required actions early, and drive issues to a documented resolution.

Operations Support & Teamwork

  • Cross-train with operations team members to understand and support warehouse, shipping and receiving, purchasing, and other core workflows.
  • Provide hands-on operational support as business needs require and in accordance with company procedures and safety expectations.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, accountable work environment and handle every inquiry and contact in a professional manner.

  • • Excellent communication skills
  • • Able to multi-task, be neat and detail-oriented and work quickly
  • • Ability to both work/learn independently and collaborate with other teammates
  • • An energetic and entrepreneurial attitude – be creative, adaptable & flexible
  • • Desire to learn – be a “sponge”, be inquisitive, seek and find solutions
  • • Superior problem-solving skill set
  • • Proficient computer skills, especially with Microsoft Office application
