Job DetailsJob Location: SPM Completion Systems Legal Address - Broussard, LA 70518Position summary The Fitter/Welder and OD/ID Grinder fits, assembles, fit welds, and side pocket gas lift mandrels. This position is responsible for producing smooth, conforming weld/pipe finishes while completing required documentation, following approved welding procedures, and working safely in accordance with company and quality management system requirements.
Qualifications and Requirements
Minimum of one year of previous manufacturing, welding, fitting, or related on-the-job experience, unless otherwise approved by management.
Welding and fitting experience with oilfield equipment is preferred.
General knowledge of basic oilfield manufacturing processes.
Ability to follow work instructions, approved welding procedures, safety requirements, and quality management system procedures.
Essential duties and responsibilities
Fit and weld side pocket gas lift mandrels in accordance with approved drawings, manufacturing orders, and welding procedures.
Perform sleeve and swage assembly.
Fit mandrel components and verify proper alignment and preparation before welding.
Grind outside diameter welds on side pocket mandrels to a smooth finish.
Grind inside diameter welds on side pocket mandrels to a smooth finish.
Inspect completed fitting, welding, and grinding work for workmanship and conformance to applicable requirements.
Complete all required production and quality paperwork accurately and promptly.
Follow all safety guidelines and use required personal protective equipment.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area and properly care for assigned tools and equipment.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Shop Supervisor or VP of Operations.
Quality system responsibilities
Follow all applicable welding procedures, work instructions, inspection requirements, and QMS policies and procedures.
Ensure required paperwork is complete, accurate, and traceable to the applicable job or manufacturing order.
Identify and report nonconforming conditions, damaged equipment, or process concerns to the Shop Supervisor.
Safety and company responsibilities
Comply with all company safety rules, policies, and procedures.
Use tools and equipment only as trained and authorized.
Immediately report injuries, hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditions to supervision.
Abide by all company policies and support a safe, quality-focused workplace.
