Threads pipe as needed for compressor units.
Responsibilities/Job Duties
Installs threaded piping to Engineering specifications
Cut and thread pipe to specifications, using tools such as saws and pipe threaders
Support a philosophy of zero accidents by following all applicable safety procedures and maintaining equipment to operate in the safest way possible
Adhere to company policy, procedures, and rules
Adhere to safety requirements by wearing appropriate protective gear
Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude
Flexibility to work hours necessary to meet plant requirements
Need minimal instructions of pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
Perform various other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Ability to read isometric pipe drawings
Familiarity with manufacturing/fabrication processes
Ability to work in a fast-paced shop environment
Ability to read and use a tape measure in US units (not metric)
Ability to read and use a level
Ability to use hand tools and power tools
Welding knowledge such as GMAW/MIG hard-wire
High School Diploma or equivalent
Competency test: Cut and thread a piece of pipe. Use it to build a small piping assembly from a drawing.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, sit and/or walk on a hard surface as well as safely bend, stoop, reach, climb steps, and use ladder for long periods of time daily
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Vision required: 20/40 with or without corrective lenses to accurately read all related distribution documents
Working Conditions
Subject to outdoor and plant environment with adjusting temperatures and climate
