Job Duties
- Exercises direct supervision over associates with respect to safety, efficiency, quality of work, and training of existing and new employees.
- Helps to foster an environment of teamwork and cooperation.
- Develops, implements, monitors, and enforces standardized work.
- Works toward continuous improvement to meet company goals.
- Maintains & improves 5-S Standards.
- Ensures labor is scheduled to support internal and external customer requirements.
- Completes hourly associate reviews and initiates paperwork for disciplinary action as needed.
- Investigates injuries, accidents, or near misses throughout the plant and provides detailed documentation to Human Resources, EHS, or the Materials Manager.
- Addresses safety issues promptly with the Materials Manager, Human Resources, and EHS.
- Follows ISO14001 guidelines as they relate to specific job activities.
- As required, communicates with customers who contact the plant.
- Reviews data to determine downtime causes and puts corrective action in place by using problem-solving techniques.
- Assists Materials Manager in responding to corrective actions from customer complaints by leading problem-solving teams.
- Works with management to attain department and company goals.
- Performs other responsibilities as directed/assigned by supervisor or upper management
Requirements
- 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role leading teams
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Proficiency with database applications and administration systems, Microsoft Office.
- Must be a highly motivated, service-oriented individual with an attention to detail.
- Strong analytical ability and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated good internal customer service skills
Working Conditions
- Overtime as required.
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
- Hi-lo license may be required
