Help protect industrial operations from fire
Firefly develops advanced fire prevention and protection systems for demanding industrial environments. Our technology detects sparks, hot particles, flames, and other ignition sources at an early stage—helping customers prevent fires, equipment damage, production downtime, and serious safety incidents.
We are expanding our North American direct-sales organization and are looking for a technically minded, business-driven sales professional to help build Firefly’s presence in the U.S. and Canadian markets.
The role
As a Technical Sales Manager, you will develop new business opportunities and deliver customized Firefly solutions to industrial customers. This is a hands-on technical sales role for someone who enjoys meeting customers, understanding industrial processes, identifying risks, and turning complex needs into practical solutions.
You will manage the full sales process—from prospecting and site visits to technical solution development, proposal preparation, negotiation, and project closing. You will work closely with Firefly’s North American team, technical experts, and headquarters in Stockholm, Sweden.
Your primary focus will be to create and develop new customer opportunities in relevant industrial markets, including manufacturing, material handling, recycling, wood products, food, tissue, biomass, and other process industries.
Your responsibilities
Develop new business opportunities and drive sales growth across the U.S. and Canadian markets.
Conduct customer meetings and site visits to understand industrial processes and identify potential ignition and fire risks.
Develop customized detection and suppression solutions together with Firefly’s engineering and technical teams.
Manage the complete technical sales cycle, including prospecting, lead generation, customer meetings, site visits, proposal preparation, negotiation, and closing.
Build relationships with plant managers, process engineers, maintenance teams, safety professionals, project managers, engineering firms, contractors, and other key decision-makers.
Deliver technical product presentations and represent Firefly at customer meetings, trade shows, conferences, and industry events.
Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities and actively pursue new projects and retrofit opportunities.
Collaborate with colleagues in North America and Sweden to ensure high-quality technical and commercial support throughout the sales process.
Travel is an important part of the role, with approximately 90 travel days per year.
About you
You are a motivated and technically minded sales professional with a strong hunter mentality. You enjoy opening doors, building new relationships, and working independently to develop business in industrial markets.
You are comfortable discussing industrial processes, material handling and conveying systems, production equipment, and fire or ignition risks with both operational and engineering personnel. You do not need to know every Firefly application on day one, but you must be curious, credible in a technical environment, and willing to learn.
We believe you have:
A bachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial technology, fire protection, or a related technical field; equivalent technical experience will also be considered.
At least five years of experience in technical or industrial sales, preferably involving engineered systems, process equipment, industrial safety, material handling, automation, or related technologies.
Experience selling complex technical solutions with multiple decision-makers and longer sales cycles.
A demonstrated ability to develop new business opportunities and manage the sales process from prospecting through closing.
The ability to understand industrial processes and translate customer needs into practical technical solutions.
Strong communication, technical presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with technical, engineering, and international teams.
Willingness to travel extensively throughout the United States and Canada.
Experience in industrial fire protection, spark or flame detection, fire suppression, process safety, or combustible-dust applications is an advantage, but not a requirement.
What we offer
At Firefly, you will join a growing North American organization backed by a global company with deep technical expertise. You will have a meaningful opportunity to help build our direct business in North America while working with technology that makes a real difference for customers, their people, and their operations.
