About this role

Summary

At Fintary, we’re building an AI-enabled platform to automate financial operations for enterprise customers. We are hiring a Sr Software Engineer, AI Native, to help build the future of how software gets built at Fintary.

This is a hands-on staff engineer role for someone who sees AI as part of the core system that turns ideas into working, verified, production-ready software. We are looking for someone who wants to redesign how a product moves from intent to implementation.

You will build customer-facing product and internal toolings to accelerate AI-assisted development making it safe, fast, and effective across the company. The goal is to create systems that engineers, design, produce managers, and operation teams can safely build products through structured workflows, helper tools, and strong verification layers.

This role sits inside a data-heavy enterprise SaaS platform in Insurance Tech. To succeed, you will need to understand platform architecture, operational workflows, and data complexity, then build AI systems that work within those real production constraints.

Company

Fintary is building software for complex financial operations in insurance. We are a fast-moving startup with strong momentum, an experienced founding team, and support from leading venture investors. We care about speed, ownership, technical depth, and building systems that solve real operational problems at enterprise scale.

Responsibilities

Build internal developer tooling that improves how software is specified, generated, tested, and shipped.

Design spec-to-implementation workflows, code-generation systems, and internal copilots that help teams move from intent to production-ready output.

Design and implement coding harnesses, sandboxes, authorization layers, and guardrails that make AI-generated code safe to use in production.

Build customer-facing functionality utilizing Fintary’s AI lifecycle.

Work across engineering, product, and operations to turn ambiguous product and infrastructure goals into reliable customer features and technical systems.

Coach the engineering organization on AI-assisted development practices and help raise the bar for how the team uses AI to build software.

Required Qualifications

Strong technical background building production systems with TypeScript, Node, React, Next.js, Postgres, and GCP.

Staff-level engineering judgment. You can design systems, make sound tradeoffs, and build with production reliability in mind.

A clear belief that the engineer’s role is shifting. You think the future is less about writing every line manually and more about designing specifications, harnesses, evals, validation systems, and safe execution environments.

Strong systems thinking. You can connect architecture, product behavior, data models, operational realities, and developer experience into one coherent design.

Evidence of curiosity and initiative outside of day-to-day work, whether through side projects, experiments, or practical work with AI coding tools.

High ownership and comfort with ambiguity. You can take a directional goal and turn it into shipped results.

What Matters to Us

We expect test harnesses before autonomy. We want deterministic validation wherever possible. We care about observability, rollback, security review, and performance requirements. These are part of the product, not cleanup work after the fact.

* We value people who move quickly, work collaboratively, and build trust across functions. The wrong fit is someone slow to iterate, overly rigid, or unable to build alignment. The right fit is someone who can move with urgency, earn trust, and make the whole organization stronger.

Why This Role Is Different

Most roles in AI are about adding AI to a product. This role is about changing how the product gets built in the first place.

You will help define a new operating model for engineering at Fintary. That means building the tooling, workflows, and verification systems that let the company move faster without sacrificing trust, control, or quality. If that sounds exciting, this role will likely feel bigger than a standard staff engineering position.
