What you will do

Help protect the culture, trust, and integrity of our organization.

As a Legal Compliance & Integrity Specialist (Investigations Triage), you’ll be an important first point of contact for ethics reports, employee concerns, and potential misconduct. You’ll review incoming reports, assess the information provided, ensure cases are accurately documented, and help route matters to the appropriate teams for further review.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, handling sensitive information, evaluating situations objectively, and using sound judgment. Your background could be in HR, Employee Relations, compliance, legal support, risk management, operations, or investigations—we’re looking for strong judgment, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.

You’ll also have opportunities to contribute to training, process improvements, contractor compliance, and other initiatives that strengthen our compliance and risk programs.

Essential Functions

  • Case Intake & Triage: Review and enter incoming reports from multiple channels (including the FedEx Alert Line, emails, and internal referrals). Conduct preliminary assessments of available details to determine severity and potential organizational impact, including Reportable Matters and legal, regulatory, financial, or reputational exposure.
  • CaseIQ Management & Data Integrity: Own the end-to-end data integrity of investigation records using CaseIQ, validating completion and accuracy of all required fields to ensure audit-readiness, seamless downstream routing, and support for future investigative processes.
  • Categorization & Escalation: Categorize cases based on defined criteria to ensure appropriate handling, escalation, and assignment by aligned investigative departments and stakeholders while providing thorough, objective case notes.
  • Program & Project Support: Help design, document, and deliver training initiatives, familiarization programs, project rollouts, and ongoing process improvements across the network in collaboration with internal/external stakeholders and third-party vendors.

You will be a great fit if you

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Human Resources, Compliance, Risk Management, or a related field preferred.
  • A high school diploma or GED plus 4+ years of relevant professional experience in HR, Employee Relations, operations, logistics, legal, compliance, investigations, or a related field may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 3–7+ years of professional experience is preferred, but we welcome candidates whose experience demonstrates strong transferable skills.
  • Experience in HR, Employee Relations, HR Operations, compliance, legal support, internal investigations, risk management, or operations is valuable for this role.
  • Tech Stack & Software: Comfortable learning and working with case management, HR, or investigation systems; Experience with CaseIQ is preferred but not required if you have experience with similar case management or workflow systems; Working knowledge of Workday, CDAS, Microsoft Office, and web-based applications is a plus.
  • Core Skills & Abilities: Exceptional critical thinking, strong presentation/communication skills, strict discretion and confidentiality with sensitive information, ability to work with minimal supervision, and the ability to make sound judgment calls under pressure.

Preferred Background & Knowledge

  • Experience in a corporate Ethics & Compliance or legal investigations environment.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (e.g., FCPA, anti-harassment, fraud, data privacy).
  • Knowledge of FedEx contractor models, agreement requirements, and small package/transportation industry practices.

Key Competencies

  • Judgment & Decision-Making: Evaluates risk and makes sound triage and operational decisions under time constraints.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensures absolute accuracy in intake documentation, CaseIQ data entry, and case classification.
  • Confidentiality: Maintains strict discretion handling sensitive, high-risk employee disclosures.
  • Communication Skills: Clear, professional, and concise verbal and written communication across diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Process & Project Orientation: Strong adherence to procedures combined with a continuous improvement mindset and cross-functional collaboration.
