Job Role Description
The associate chemical synthesis technician is responsible for performing organic, inorganic, and organometallic syntheses under supervision. This role entails executing literature-based procedures, applying standard purification and separation techniques, and generating high-quality data and documentation to support research and development activities - while ensuring safe, compliant, and high-quality operations in line with operational integrity standards
Job Role Responsibilities
- Performs inorganic and organic syntheses using literature-based procedures and applies basic characterization techniques
- Reproduces air-sensitive organometallic syntheses from published procedures and applies basic purification techniques such as recrystallization for mixtures of organometallic compounds
- Applies standard separation methods such as extraction, chromatography, distillation, etc.
- Maintains clear and consistent communication with scientists and team members to ensure effective collaboration, timely updates on research progress, and alignment of project goal
- Knows and adheres to operational integrity by consistently following safety protocols, quality standards, and compliance requirements
- Analyzes results using standard references and established interpretation methods to ensure accuracy and consistency in data evaluation
- Reports data / findings clearly and promptly, documenting all relevant data for effective use across ExxonMobil
