SUMMARY

The Banquet Manager (“Gerente de Banquetes”) provides strategic and hands-on leadership to ensure all banquet functions are executed according to established service standards, Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), guest expectations, and property financial objectives. The Banquet Manager leads and develops the Banquet leadership team, establishes clear expectations and accountability, and ensures consistent execution across meetings, conferences, weddings, social events, and other catered functions.

Compensation: $90,000 - $100,000 DOE**

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Is responsible for accurate and timely completion of all administrative duties.
Adheres to all Evans Hotels Standard Operation Procedures, particularly those involving cash handling, audit, and accounting.
Ensures all banquet service standards are adhered to through continuous accountability and training.
Develop schedules based on forecasted banquet business and established productivity standards.
Prepares and manages an equipment cleaning and maintenance schedule.
Develops and manages the standard practice for the banquet room setup and breakdown, delivery of equipment to the banquet space, and delivery of food to the banquet space.
Works closely with the Culinary and Stewarding teams during banquet events to ensure coordinated service, timing, and execution.
Develop and implement SOPs to ensure operational consistency, quality, and accountability across the Banquet operation.
Creates Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the Banquet Departments. SOP's must meet or exceed hotel service levels.
Address performance issues promptly and constructively, in accordance with HR and company policies.
Recruit, train, coach, and mentor team members, ensuring a high-performing, service-oriented culture.
Promote teamwork and employee engagement, ensuring alignment with company values and expectations.
Maintain strong working relationships with Culinary, Catering/Conference Services, Sales, Stewarding, Engineering, Housekeeping, Security, Purchasing, and other operational departments.
Participate actively in BEO meetings and other operational meetings.
Performs additional duties and responsibilities as directed by the leadership team.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

At least 2–4 years of progressive banquet leadership experience, preferably in high-volume banquet, upscale hotel, or resort environments.
A combination of experience, education, and/or training may be substituted for either requirement
Previous similar position in a up-scale hotel, or similar business entity preferred.
Experience running shifts, scheduling, performance management, problem-solving, guest servicing and running day-to-day operations.
Availability to work on weekends and holidays is required.
Must be able to attain a valid San Diego County Food Handler certification upon hire. Evans Hotels will provide this training and is to be completed at the company’s expense.
RBS Certification required.
Ability to stand, kneel, squat for prolonged periods of time, up to and including, the entire shift and lift up to 25 lbs.
The following position will be filled in accordance with the process set forth in California Labor Code Section 2810.8 and San Diego Municipal Code 311.0101 et. seq.

**The pay scale posted is the salary or hourly wage range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for the position during the first year of employment. The posted range does NOT include potential additional types of compensation, such as gratuities, service charges, commissions, or bonuses. Actual compensation offered may fluctuate based on qualifications and/or experience.
