SUMMARY

The Front Desk Agent (“Agente de Recepción”) welcomes our guests with a warm and friendly smile and courteously and efficiently handles guest arrivals and departures. This position proactively provides guests with personalized service and attention that exceeds their expectations while ensuring all guest interactions reflect the hotel’s service standards, values, and commitment to an exceptional guest experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Perform all aspects of the guest arrival and departure experience, including check-in, check-out, room assignments, key issuance, payment authorization, and providing accurate information about the hotel, resort, and surrounding area.
Serve as a knowledgeable ambassador for the resort by confidently communicating hotel amenities, services, dining options, recreational activities, special events, and other experiences available to guests.
Support hotel revenue goals by identifying opportunities to appropriately upsell room types, packages, amenities, and services while focusing on options that enhance the guest experience.
Respond to guest questions, requests, concerns, and service recovery opportunities with empathy, sound judgment, and a sense of urgency; take ownership whenever possible and appropriately escalate matters requiring additional assistance.
Collaborate and communicate effectively across departments to ensure guest requests, special occasions, preferences, maintenance concerns, room status information, and other important details are communicated and resolved in a timely manner.
Utilize hotel technology and communication systems effectively, maintaining accurate guest profiles, reservation details, preferences, requests, notes, billing information, and other documentation while protecting guest privacy and confidential information.
Communicate professionally across all guest touchpoints, including in-person interactions, telephone calls, text messaging, email, and other hotel communication platforms, using a friendly, polished, and responsive approach.
Accurately process guest accounts and financial transactions, including credit and debit card payments, cash, deposits, authorizations, adjustments, special billing, and other approved payment methods in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Promote an inclusive, accessible, safe, and secure environment by respectfully assisting guests with disabilities, following accessibility standards, and understanding and supporting hotel safety, security, and emergency procedures.
Contribute to a positive and collaborative workplace by supporting fellow associates, maintaining a professional and organized Front Desk environment, adapting to changing operational needs, and performing other job-related duties as assigned.
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as directed by the leadership team.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

At least 1-2 years of relevant experience and/or training.
Previous similar position in a hotel, or similar business entity preferred.
Availability to work on weekends and holidays is required.
Ability to always maintain a friendly, professional, team-oriented, positive demeanor and diplomatic attitude, especially under stress or challenges.
Ability to stand, kneel, squat for prolonged periods of time, up to and including, the entire shift and lift up to 25 lbs.
The following position will be filled in accordance with the process set forth in California Labor Code Section 2810.8 and San Diego Municipal Code 311.0101 et. seq.
