Organization Unit Purpose

 

Group Fraud Prevention and Investigations Unit manages Emirates NBD’s susceptibility to fraud risks, aiming to reduce risk exposure and raise fraud awareness. This new position will further strengthen the unit’s investigative capabilities, expand international fraud management, and enhance training and knowledge transfer across the bank. 

 

Job Purpose

This newly created role is responsible for leading and managing the most complex, sensitive, and high-profile investigations across the Group, including both fraud and non-fraud matters. The role holder will ensure the bank meets heightened regulatory expectations, drive international casework, and leverage analytics to enhance investigative outcomes.

 

Job Content

 1. Leading complex and high-profile investigations (fraud & non-fraud) 

Lead, manage, and resolve complex, sensitive, and cross functional investigations; ensure best practices in evidence management and reporting 

2. Management of increased regulatory expectations 

Interpret and implement new regulatory requirements (local and international); ensure investigations and reporting meet or exceed expectations of CBUAE, Basel, UAE PDPL, and other relevant bodies 

3. International investigative coverage 

 Initiate and coordinate crossborder investigations; build relationships with international regulators, law enforcement, and peer institutions 

4. Handling of non-fraud matters 

 Lead investigations into nonfraud risks (e.g., misconduct, policy breaches, operational losses) as assigned by management 

5. Application of analytics to investigations 

Use data analytics to identify patterns, support investigations, and recommend controls; collaborate with analytics teams to enhance investigative tools 

6. Training and knowledge transfer 

 Develop and deliver advanced training for investigators; mentor staff; share lessons learned from complex and international cases 

7. Stakeholder engagement (internal and external) 

 Liaise with business units, legal, HR, regulators, and law enforcement as needed for investigations and training.

 

Education

  • Professional qualification like CFE, ACA, ACCA, ICWA, CIA or similar 

 

Experiences

  • • 8+ years in complex investigations (fraud and non-fraud) 
  • Experience in global banking environments preferred 
  • UAE banking industry experience preferred
