About this role
The College of Veterinary Medicine seeks a Research Assistant II/III/IV. This position assists researchers in planning, maintaining or completing research programs and/or projects involved in the discovery of new knowledge, techniques, and concepts which require fundamental scientific/research knowledge, skills and abilities following relevant policies, procedures, regulations and laws.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include the following:
- Performing core laboratory techniques
- Assisting with experimental procedures
- Generating, documenting, and analyzing experimental data with strong attention to detail
- Maintaining laboratory organization, inventory, and ensuring compliance with institutional policies and regulatory requirements
- Contribute intellectually to experimental design and interpretation and participate actively in lab meetings and scientific discussions
Qualifications
Focus of Education:
- Degree in content specific area of research
Scope of Expereince:
- Experience in research practices and protocols
Level II:
- Bachelor's degree
- 2 years of experience
Leverl III:
- Bachelor's degree
- 4 years of experience
Level IV:
- Bachelor's degree
- 6 years of experience
Substitution allowed for Experience:
When a candidate has the required education, but lacks the required experience, they may normally apply additional appropriate education toward the experience requirement, at a rate of one (1) year relevant education per year of required experience.
Job related licensure may be required for specific positions upon hire.
