About This Role
We are seeking a motivated and technically strong Project Engineer to support the development of electro-mechanical systems within a space grade weapons program. This role focuses on hands on engineering execution, technical integration, and cross functional collaboration. The ideal candidate has solid experience in electro-mechanical design, analysis, and testing, and is ready to take ownership of engineering tasks within a fast paced, highly technical environment.

This position requires strong technical problem solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering high quality engineering work.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design, development, analysis, and testing of electro-mechanical systems for space grade applications.
  • Oversee the structural and thermal integrity of aerostructures and electro-mechanical assemblies through testing, modeling, and data evaluation.
  • Execute engineering tasks including requirements development, design iteration, prototyping, verification, and validation activities.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to processes, tools, and designs to enhance reliability and efficiency.
  • Plan and complete assigned engineering work to meet technical requirements and program milestones.
  • Work closely with Cognizant Engineers and cross functional teams to ensure seamless integration of electro-mechanical hardware within the larger system.
  • Prepare and present technical documentation, test results, analyses, and design updates.
  • Assist with troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions for hardware or test anomalies.
  • Maintain configuration control, adherence to engineering standards, and accuracy of all engineering records.
  • Engage in continuous learning to strengthen technical expertise and contribute to innovation within the program.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Approximately 5 years of engineering experience, preferably in aerospace or defense.
  • Experience in electro-mechanical design, Designing for manufacturability and assembly, and electronics packaging for high reliability or space grade hardware.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, development processes, and test methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multi disciplinary team.
  • Active Secret with an ability to obtain Special Access approval
