D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Division Land Acquisition Director. The right candidate will direct land acquisition operations for the division while maintaining responsibility for strategic acquisition transactions. This role oversees personnel, operational performance, acquisition strategy, and portfolio growth.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Direct land acquisition activities for the division
Establish acquisition strategies, performance objectives, and growth plans
Lead, develop, and evaluate acquisition personnel to ensure effective execution of departmental objectives
Review and approve acquisition recommendations, investment analyses, and transaction structures
Negotiate strategic transactions and partnership opportunities supporting long-term growth
Monitor acquisition pipelines, budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics
Collaborate with executive leadership to evaluate market expansion opportunities and business priorities
Ensure compliance with company policies, approval processes, and risk management standards
Represent the company at industry events, meetings, and networking opportunities
Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company
- Ability to travel overnight

Supervises 2 or more employees
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience required
Ten+ years of progressive land acquisition, real estate, development, or homebuilding experience required
5+ years of people management experience
Strong understanding of multi-market acquisition strategy and organizational leadership principles
Proven ability to develop high-performing teams that consistently deliver results
Ability to create alignment between acquisition strategy and business objectives

Strong computer skills are required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn new programs/systems quickly is essential
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form or via DRH applications
Ability to sit for majority of 8-hour workday; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and peripheral vision
