About this role

The Hydrodynamics and Stability section delivers a wide range of consultancy services. We pride ourselves on being world-leading for assessment of hydrodynamic loads and their response for a variety of marine structures. Our tight team helps to ensure the safety of ships and floating offshore structures through stability services, from concept studies through operations, conversions and life extensions. We provide advice related to ship hydrodynamic performance, supporting the required shift in our industry to gradually reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Our services are delivered globally, and we experience a great level of trust from our clients.

Typical tasks as a Summer student in Hydrodynamics and Stability would be:

  • Vessel response calculations
  • Vessel performance evaluation
  • Data analytics, programming, machine learning
     

A summer job in Maritime Advisory at our head office in Høvik (outside Oslo) will consist of a combination of individual tasks and teamwork, guided by technical experts.

Qualifications

We are primarily seeking 3rd and 4th year students with relevant Master Program specialization in:

  • Naval Architechture
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Computer Science / Information Science / Artificial Intelligence
  • Cybernetics / Robotics
  • Physics /Mathematics
     

Who are we looking for?

  • Highly motivated with an ambition to excel within technical problem solving
  • A pro-active attitude to engage with other to find good solutions
  • Good communication skills in English. Knowledge of Norwegian is a preference
  • Finds marine engineering and technology to be highly interesting
  • Skills and experience in programming are an advantage
  • Wish to contribute to technological innovation and decarbonization
