About this role

Would you like to build secure, AI-enabled software that supports the global maritime industry?

Join DNV's Maritime Digital Development organization at Høvik. Our approximately 150 colleagues develop and operate the digital platform behind more than 400 applications used by thousands of customers and colleagues worldwide, around the clock.

The maritime industry is being transformed by AI, sensor data, drones and increasingly automated processes. We turn these technologies into trusted verification services and practical digital products that help customers make safer, smarter decisions.

We are looking for a motivated full-stack developer with architectural experience who combines strong software engineering with the practical use of AI, both to improve how software is developed and to create AI-enabled products.

You will work across cloud and on-premises solutions using a modern .NET and web technology stack. Your work will directly influence our system architecture, engineering practices and the digital services relied on by the maritime industry.

About the team

You will join an agile, multidisciplinary environment within Maritime Digital Development. You will collaborate closely with domain experts, UX designers, developers, data scientists and Maritime's AI specialists, while contributing to a strong professional community across DNV.

What you'll do

  • Design and deliver secure, scalable and maintainable digital products from idea to production.
  • Shape system architecture, contribute to technology roadmaps and promote sound engineering and security practices.
  • Develop applications in which data and AI agents create measurable value for users and the business.
  • Build microservices, APIs and micro frontends using modern development practices.
  • Collaborate in cross-functional teams to solve real customer problems.
  • Take ownership of production quality, platform reliability, technical excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Provide architectural guidance, challenge existing patterns and contribute to a strong professional community.

Responsibilities

  • Meaningful work: Build trusted digital services that contribute to a safer and more sustainable maritime industry.
  • Competitive rewards and benefits: Six weeks of annual leave, a subsidised canteen, competitive pension and insurance arrangements, parental leave benefits and a global profit-share scheme.
  • Flexible and sustainable working life: Flexible working hours and workplace arrangements that support collaboration and work-life balance.
  • Professional growth: Challenging assignments, knowledge sharing, mentoring and access to a large international technology community.
  • A collaborative, inclusive culture: Work with skilled colleagues across disciplines and countries in an environment shaped by openness, trust and shared responsibility.
  • A great workplace at Høvik: Our seaside campus offers gym facilities, activity groups, free parking and shuttle buses to and from Skøyen, Lysaker and Sandvika.
  • A clear purpose: Join a world-leading company guided by “we care, we share, we dare” and a purpose to safeguard life, property and the environment.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who brings:

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least four years of professional experience designing, developing and delivering robust, scalable and maintainable software solutions using the Microsoft technology stack, including including .NET (C#), WebComponents, WebAPI GraphQL, MS SQL.
  • Solid experience building single-page applications using React and TypeScript.
  • Experience with APIs, distributed systems, microservice architecture and system design.
  • Experience in the full lifecycle of application development using AI-assisted development tools effectively and responsibly.
  • Experience with integrating AI capabilities or agents into business applications.
  • Professional fluency in English, both written and spoken.

We value

  • Curiosity and the ability to understand a problem before choosing a solution.
  • Initiative, follow-through and a good balance between independence and teamwork.
  • Clear communication and openness to giving and receiving constructive feedback.
  • An interest in learning and applying new technologies, particularly AI.
