MDM Consultant

Responsibilities

• Facilitate domain definition workshops
• Design the golden-record model per domain: identity attributes, source trust ranking, survivorship rules by source authority and recency.
• Design matching logic: deterministic matching on verified identifiers as the primary path, with transliteration-aware probabilistic matching on Arabic and English name and address data as the secondary path.
• Lead the MDM technology evaluation.
• Design reference data management: controlled lists, code sets and hierarchies (licence types, minerals/commodities, regions, inspection categories) with versioning.
• Define the stewardship operating model: review queues, decision rights, SLAs, and the quality measures monitored (match rate, duplicate rate, steward backlog).
• Define how golden keys are applied at silver and published in gold, and the boundary on write-back to operational systems

Required skills and experience

• 8+ years in master data management, with at least two full MDM implementations delivered.
• Deep command of matching and survivorship theory: deterministic vs probabilistic, threshold tuning, precision/recall trade-offs, and how to explain false-match risk to a business owner.
• Arabic-script name and address matching � transliteration variance, name-order conventions, and the practical limits of fuzzy matching on Arabic data. This materially affects match quality on investor and organisation domains.
• Hands-on with at least one commercial MDM platform (Semarchy xDM, Informatica MDM, Ataccama ONE, Tamr or equivalent) and the judgement to compare them objectively.
• Reference data management and hierarchy versioning.
• Party/customer/organisation domain modelling; experience with citizen, investor or licensee registries is a strong advantage.

Certifications

• Preferred: Vendor certification on the selected MDM product; DAMA CDMP (Reference & Master Data specialism).
