About this role

The Server Administrator is responsible for managing, maintaining, and securing the organisation's server infrastructure. This includes ensuring high availability, performance, and security of server environments.

 

 

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Server Maintenance & Monitoring

  • Install, configure, and maintain server hardware and software.
  • Monitor server performance and troubleshoot issues.
  • Ensure regular system updates, patches, and security fixes.

User & Access Management

  • Manage user accounts, roles, and permissions in Active Directory.
  • Implement security measures to protect sensitive data.

Backup & Disaster Recovery

  • Implement and monitor backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Ensure business continuity by testing recovery processes.

Security & Compliance

  • Implement security policies to safeguard server environments.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain detailed documentation of server configurations and procedures.
  • Provide reports on server uptime, performance, and security incidents.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Key Requirements

Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Administration Fundamentals (preferred).
  • Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, and virtualisation technologies.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in server administration.

Competence Requirements

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple server environments.
  • Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
