This position is responsible for completing loan-level reviews for CHFA Program Compliance, Mortgage Credit Certificate Eligibility, and Loan purchase, ensuring adherence to applicable Insurer/Guarantor, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, IRS Tax Code, and CHFA programmatic guidelines. This position reports to the Loan Operations Team Lead.

essential functions
Support the operation and production activities of CHFA’s participating lenders, from reservation through loan purchase
Perform daily CHFA Program Compliance, MCC and loan purchase review functions to ensure applicable guidelines are met
Meet production and loan cycle time goals in all phases of loan production as established by the HF Loan Operations Manager and/or Director of Home Finance
Ability to complete a high volume of production while maintaining a high level of accuracy at all phases of the loan process
Ability to understand and interpret all applicable underwriting regulations, mortgage insurance and guarantee requirements and IRS Tax Code requirements
Understand what corrective actions are necessary at various stages of the loan process and resolve as necessary
Evaluate critical loan documents and understand the risk associated with each documents
Provide an accurate, detailed account of all activities related to a specific loan file with follow-up dates using conversation logs and automated workflow tool
Establish and maintain strong relationships with Participating Lenders.
Communicate with the Business Development Operations Specialist and the HF Business Development Team through a feedback loop to support Home Finance marketing and training efforts
Work collaboratively with the Funding / Final Document, Secondary Marketing, Loan Servicing Oversight departments to ensure a smooth and timely transition from Loan Operations
Conduct regular reviews of the Seller’s Guide and Loan Operations Desktop Procedure Manual to ensure currentand accurate information. Recommend revisions as necessary
Identify process improvements on an on-going basis
Act as Subject Matter Expert in all phases of Loan Operations
Assist HF Loan Operations Team Lead and/or Loan Operations Manager, with special projects as necessary

Ability to interpret and apply complicated IRS Tax Code regulations
Must demonstrate thorough understanding of the mortgage origination and purchase process, including FHA, VA, USDA, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac regulations
Proven analytical skills
Ability to utilize technology for research, such as FHA Connection, ALLREGS, and other industry resources
Strong ethical decision-making skills
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills with the ability to work independently
Ability to accurately work in a fast-paced environment within tight deadlines
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Knowledge of MS Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

experience/education
Associate’s Degree in a business-related field or equivalent job experience in the mortgage industry is required; Bachelor’s Degree in business, accounting, or finance preferred. Mortgage Industry training; i.e., MBA, CMLA, or APMW a plus. Minimum of five years in mortgage loan origination, underwriting, processing, or closing is desired. Title company experience is helpful.
