We are looking for a Senior Royalty Inspection and Compliance Analyst to join our Business Management and Family Office. This role is intended for an experienced music royalty professional who can independently lead complex music royalty inspection engagements with minimal oversight. The ideal candidate possesses deep knowledge of music royalty accounting, recording and publishing agreements, licensing arrangements, royalty reporting practices, and inspection methodologies.
Responsibilities
• Work closely, and independently, with royalty professional staff on royalty audits of music companies (e.g. record labels and music publishers) and other licensees of intellectual property on behalf of the Firm’s clients.
• Manage engagements including planning, execution, supervision, review, client communication, and report writing.
• Identify potential royalty risks and develop strategies.
• Review, interpret, and apply complex contractual royalty provisions to transactional and royalty reporting data.
• Analyze large royalty datasets utilizing advanced Excel and other database tools.
• Manage client relationships and communicate findings to artists, songwriters, producers, executives, and management teams.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree.
• 3 to 5+ years of music royalty experience with music royalty inspection experience.
• Comfortable with leading royalty inspections independently.
• Deep understanding of record label, music publishing, neighboring rights, mechanical, performance, synchronization, and digital royalty income streams.
• Advanced Excel skills; pivot tables, look-ups, etc.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
