America's second oldest horse racing track, the Fair Grounds has been a New Orleans staple since 1852. We are a premiere entertainment venue presenting thoroughbred & exotic animal races, slots, video poker and simulcasting year-round. Located in New Orleans, Fair Grounds operates a slot-machine gaming facility and 13 off-track betting parlors throughout southeast Louisiana.

JOB SUMMARY

Clocks horse workout time during Thoroughbred training hours

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Available in the clocker's stand during training hours each day to time horses working out.
Coordinates with trainers, exercise riders and spotters in correctly identifying each horse that works.
Provides a detailed sheet of workouts following training hours, including the distance and intensity of the work as well as if the work was performed breaking from the starting gate.
Faxes workouts each day to the Daily Racing Form and Equibase and posts for the public by the horsemen.
Inputs information in the Incompass system for each horse.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Must be 21 years old and able to obtain a Racing License from Louisiana Racing Commission.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
