About this role

We are looking for a Backend / Full Stack Engineer with 2+ years of experience to join an engineering team building financial infrastructure that already processes billions of dollars in nonprofit payments. You'll own systems end to end – from architecture to shipping – working directly with founders and leadership with zero layers in between. This is a high-autonomy role where your judgment and opinions directly shape what gets built, not just how. We need engineers who have strong technical convictions, communicate clearly, and thrive in a fast-moving environment where whiteboarding, debating, and shipping are the norm.

What you will be doing

Building and owning backend server applications and components that power Chariot's payment platform end to end – from design through production

Contributing to architecture decisions across APIs, backend systems, and infrastructure – helping define team standards and best practices

Collaborating directly with founders, product, and engineering through whiteboarding sessions and technical debates – strong opinions loosely held

Improving real-time monitoring and alerting capabilities to better understand user behavior and iterate on the product

Taking on a wide range of engineering projects across the platform – the team intentionally avoids siloed product lines so you'll work across the full stack

What happens next

Skip the application pile. I get you in front of the people who decide.
