About the role
Join the Multi-Unit Insurance Servicing (MUIS) team, in the Bilingual Senior Officer, Operations position.
The MUIS team supports Approved Lenders throughout the life of insured multi-unit mortgage loans by administering servicing requests, covenant changes, borrower structure updates, and other post-funding matters. In this role, you will review and analyze servicing requests, assess risk, provide recommendations, and work closely with lenders and internal partners to ensure timely and consistent service delivery.
This position offers an opportunity to develop expertise in mortgage loan insurance servicing while contributing to CMHC's commitment to supporting a stable and sustainable housing system.

 

What you’ll do: 

 

  • Review, analyze and process servicing requests related to insured multi-unit mortgage loans, identify risks and issues, and provide recommendations in accordance with CMHC policies and insurance requirements.
  • Analyze borrower, property, and financial information to support recommendations and decision-making.
  • Communicate with lenders to obtain additional information, clarify requirements, and provide guidance on servicing processes.
  • Prepare recommendations and escalate more complex issues to management, as required.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records to support decisions and ensure file completeness.
  • Respond to lender inquiries in a professional, timely, and client-focused manner.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and business partners to support the delivery of consistent and efficient service.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and contribute to team initiatives.

 

 
What you should have:  

 

  • An undergraduate degree in commerce, business administration, finance, real estate, property management, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience will also be considered.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in multi-unit servicing, underwriting, or administration. An equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to review and interpret financial statements and supporting documentation related to multi-unit housing projects.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong client service orientation and relationship-management skills.
  • The ability to exercise sound judgment and recognize when issues require escalation.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in both official languages (French and English).

 

It would be great if you also had:

 

  • An experience in multi-unit residential mortgage loan insurance, servicing, or financing.
  • Knowledge of CMHC mortgage insurance products.
  • A successful completion of a professional association designation would be considered an asset.
