About this role

The following are representative of the duties performed in this position and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities.

  • Mow, edge, trim, water, fertilize, and maintain lawns, shrubs, trees, flower beds, and landscaped areas.
  • Remove snow and ice from sidewalks, entrances, parking areas, and other designated locations using appropriate equipment and materials.
  • Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment including lawn mowers, trimmers, snow blowers, loaders, and other power-operated tools.
  • Perform routine inspections of assigned work areas to ensure grounds are maintained in accordance with company appearance and safety standards.
  • Assist with planning, planting, and maintaining seasonal landscaping projects and enhancements.
  • Maintain sidewalks, parking lots, and other exterior areas by performing minor repairs and preventative maintenance.
  • Collect and dispose of trash, debris, and refuse from property grounds and exterior spaces.
  • Clean exterior building glass, garage areas, elevator lobbies, and other designated public-facing areas.
  • Perform routine cleaning, adjustments, and minor mechanical maintenance on groundskeeping equipment, including completion of daily equipment safety inspections and operational checklists.
  • Assist with identifying landscaping improvements and recommending appropriate trees, shrubs, and plant materials.
  • Apply fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, and other treatments in accordance with company policies, applicable regulations, and supervisory direction.
  • Maintain inventory of landscaping supplies and notify management of equipment or material needs.
  • Follow all safety procedures, departmental policies, and regulatory requirements while performing assigned duties.
  • Support special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

 



 

Qualifications

  • Previous groundskeeping, landscaping, facility maintenance, or environmental services experience preferred.
  • Ability to operate landscaping and grounds maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
  • Knowledge of basic landscaping practices, plant care, and grounds maintenance techniques.
  • Ability to perform physical labor in various weather conditions, including prolonged standing, walking, lifting, bending, and repetitive motion activities.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high property presentation standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and lift during the course of the workday.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
  • Ability to safely operate equipment and tools required for grounds maintenance activities.

 

High school diploma or GED preferred. Typically requires one (1) year of groundskeeping, landscaping, facility maintenance, or related experience, completion of a recognized apprenticeship program, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.
