We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Specialist, Trustee & Depositary II to join our Depotbank department. This role is located in Frankfurt, Germany. 

Under the direction of the Team Manager, the Specialist is acting as daily contact person for designated clients / KVGs. The role is responsible for processing, T&D services to clients / KVGs to ensure delivery of correct regulation controls to clients / KVGs. The Specialist supports the Team Manager and other team members in ensuring that all controls and procedures being performed as well as helping to ensure that service levels meet and exceed client / KVG regulatory and legal requirements.

The position requires knowledge of T&D (Depotbank) convention and techniques, understanding of Investment Compliance, workflows, procedures and controls and quality standards. 

The Specialist will be required to process the following tasks within the Depotbank department. They shall be executed within the guidelines and procedures provided by BNY and under the supervision and guidance of a Supervisor and Team Manager. 

The Specialist supports daily operational activities across Investment Compliance and Depotbank functions. Under the guidance of experienced team members, the Specialist performs controls, reviews fund prospectuses for UCITS and AIFs, assist with static data maintenance, and prepare. Your goal is to deliver error-free and on-time processing aligned to regulatory requirements and internal quality standards.

  • German Investment Compliance duties 

  • Set Up and control of fee models in Xentis

  • Support of fund Events

  • Provide input data for Depotbank fee calculations & prepare data hand-offs to the Billing Team.

  • Control of fund static data

  • Develop and maintain an understanding of the client / KVG business and market requirements

  • Respond to all client / KVG and BNYM in-house requests in a timely manner

  • Direct communication with clients and stakeholders

  • Creation, documentation and optimization of own workflows and processes

  • Preparation of the relevant documentation for external and internal audit in close cooperation with senior team members and / or Management

  • Perform and reviews daily / periodic controls as required or assigned

  • Ensuring that daily workflows, procedures and controls are effectively executed in a timely manner

  • Collaborate closely with team members and interfaces across BNY.

  • Handle internal & external queries diligently and on time

  • Support Team in improving workflows in accordance with BNY procedures and controls, legal requirements and client requirements.

  • Monitor areas for risk and minimizes potential loss and exposure

  • Participate in projects 

  • Keep up to date of internal and external developments (e.g. regulations) which could affect client services operations

  • Quality assurance standards development and implementation

  • Support in coordination of activities over Depotbank teams and other BNYM departments
     

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following: 

  • Education: Banking/business education or comparable qualification; early experience in investment Compliance or depotbank/compliance is a plus.

  • Experience: 1–4 years relevant experience; proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word); familiarity with relevant systems (e.g., Xentis) is a plus, with onboarding provided.

  • Knowledge: Basic understanding of financial instruments (securities, FX, simple derivatives); willingness to develop knowledge of regulatory requirements.

  • Working style: Accuracy, reliability, and accountability; structured and documentation-secure approach.

  • Communication: Good written and verbal German and English; collaborative, client service mindset.

  • Good communicator and Team playing spirit is a must

  • Frame of mind focused on productivity; willingness to take more duties, expand team

  • Preferred to have Process Improvement experiences / skills, e.g. to design / establish new detailed processes to run the company better, Documentation skills, e.g. procedures / manual

  • Strong Risk Control: monitoring and adhering legal and compliance responsibilities
