We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Scrum Leader to join our team. This role is in Pittsburgh, Lake Mary

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Ensuring Scrum principles and practices are followed, and Scrum team events occur, are productive, and kept within timeboxes.
  • Removing impediments identified by Teams and tracking and resolving team dependencies.
  • Facilitating and guiding Teams to deliver expected outcomes with high quality, including supporting problem identification, root cause analysis, and decision-making.
  • Helping Teams focus on creating increments of value for each iteration and achieving daily and Iteration goals in the context of current program objectives.
  • Working with Portfolio and Product leaders to manage the program backlog, guide the program, and facilitate a healthy team dynamic with respect to priorities and scope.
  • Instigating change and continuous improvements to increase team productivity and the quality of software engineering deliverables.
  • Providing agile and technical leadership within a specific business or domain and facilitating Team level, Big Room Planning, and program level events and readiness.
  • Coaching Teams, Product Owners, and the organization in Scrum adoption, agile practices, and continuous improvement.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • 8-10 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Previous technical experience is preferred, including experience as a Scrum Master for software development teams on large initiatives.
  • Knowledge of various Agile approaches, including Scrum, SAFe, XP, Kanban, and Spotify.
  • Experience with Agile techniques such as User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, and Agile Games.
  • Knowledge and experience with tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills, with the ability to drive consensus and resolve conflicts across multiple parties.
  • Preferred Agile certifications including CSM, PSM, and SAFe SSM.

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The expected base salary for this position when employment commences can be found in the Job Info section at the bottom of the posting. 

Base salary offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base salary is only part of the total rewards package, which may include eligibility for an annual discretionary incentive award. Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans then in effect, eligible employees may enroll in a 401(k) plan as well as participate in Company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance plans for the employee and the employee’s eligible dependents. Eligible employees also may receive other benefits (including various paid time off benefits, such as vacation and sick time), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, the employee will be in an “at will” position and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payments or compensation programs) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
