About this role
We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Specialist, Fund/Client Accounting to join our team. This role is located in Frankfurt, Germany.
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
• Maintain, validate and enrich security master and reference data for new and existing instruments, ensuring completeness, accuracy and consistency across operational systems.
• Analyse complex instrument characteristics and ensure correct security classification, lifecycle attributes and event setup across equities, fixed income and derivatives.
• Manage security-data exceptions and investigate discrepancies between internal records, market sources and vendor feeds, applying appropriate controls and escalation.
• Work confidently with external data vendors and support effective issue resolution, data clarification and change coordination. Bloomberg and WM Datenservice are typical data vendors used in this environment.
Process and control event data in XENTIS, including dividends, coupon and interest payments, pool factor updates and corporate actions such as redemptions, mergers, stock and cash options, rights issues, tender offers, stock splits, spin-offs and warrant-related events.
• Partner with Fund Accounting, Pricing, Custody, Corporate Actions, Technology and other stakeholders to ensure that instrument and event data supports accurate valuation, accounting and downstream processing.
• Contribute to procedure documentation, data-quality controls, root-cause analysis and continuous improvement, including opportunities for automation and stronger preventive controls.
• Communicate significant data, processing or vendor issues clearly and promptly to relevant stakeholders and management.
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
Instrument and market expertise
• Strong practical understanding of security master data and the key economic, lifecycle and valuation attributes of financial instruments.
• Broad asset-class experience, with particular depth in equities and fixed-income instruments, including government and corporate bonds, inflation-linked bonds, floating-rate notes, zero-coupon and callable/puttable bonds, convertible bonds and other structured or non-standard debt instruments.
• Very good understanding of exchange-traded derivatives, particularly futures and options, including equity and index options, weekly and other short-dated options, contract specifications, expiries, exercise styles, multipliers and underlying relationships.
• Ability to interpret term sheets, prospectuses, exchange notices and vendor data, and translate them into accurate reference-data and event setups.
Corporate actions, income and vendor management
Hands-on experience with event processing in XENTIS is required, including dividends, coupon and interest payments, pool factor updates and corporate actions. This includes the validation of key dates, rates, elections, entitlements and resulting cash or position movements.
• Confident handling of market-data vendors and data sources is required. Bloomberg and WM Datenservice are typical vendors used in this environment, and familiarity with German-market data conventions is expected.
• Experience investigating data breaks, challenging inconsistent source information and coordinating resolution with vendors and internal stakeholders.
Professional capabilities
• At least three years of relevant experience in securities data management, investment operations, corporate actions, fund accounting, custody or a comparable financial-services environment.
• Strong analytical judgement, attention to detail and a control-focused approach, with the ability to prioritise time-critical issues reliably.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively across operational, business and technology teams.
Very good written and spoken German and English are required, particularly for working with German-market documentation, data providers and international stakeholders.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Exposure to data analytics, automation or AI-enabled tools such as Alteryx or similar platforms is an advantage.
