About this role

Your team

Preqin is part of BlackRock’s Aladdin Client Business. Together, Preqin, BlackRock and Aladdin are transforming how private markets data and technology support investment decisions globally.

Preqin extends BlackRock’s private markets capabilities by complementing the Aladdin platform and helping clients view, analyze and act across their portfolios. We are an ambitious, collaborative and client-focused team that values inclusion, constructive challenge and continuous improvement.

Your role and impact

As a Vice President within Preqin’s Business Development team, you will lead commercial growth across the Nordic region. You will expand Preqin’s market presence, accelerate subscription revenue and build strategic relationships across Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway and Iceland.

You will develop new business, deepen existing client partnerships and position Preqin as a trusted partner to the region’s private markets community. Working across Preqin, BlackRock and Aladdin, you will identify and execute opportunities that bring our combined data and technology capabilities to clients.

This is a highly visible role with significant autonomy and influence. Success will be measured through revenue growth, pipeline development, strategic client engagement and Preqin’s long-term position in the Nordic market.

Your responsibilities

In every role at BlackRock, you'll be expected to apply sound judgement and critical thinking to solve complex problems, adapt as the business evolves, and combine the curiosity to explore new approaches and technologies with the rigor to challenge the results. The scope of this role also includes the following responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute Preqin’s Nordic growth strategy, translating market opportunities into clear commercial priorities and territory plans.

  • Own the end-to-end sales cycle, from prospecting and qualification through proposal, negotiation and close.

  • Generate new subscription revenue and maintain a strong, qualified and predictable pipeline.

  • Build and expand relationships with institutional investors, pension funds, insurance companies, sovereign wealth funds, asset managers, wealth platforms, banks, consultants, private equity firms and other private markets participants.

  • Lead consultative client engagements, proposals and product demonstrations that connect client priorities with Preqin’s data, research, workflow and technology capabilities.

  • Partner across Preqin, BlackRock and Aladdin to coordinate senior client engagement and pursue integrated commercial opportunities.

  • Represent Preqin at industry events, conferences and client forums, while sharing market intelligence, competitive insights and client feedback with internal stakeholders.

Your experience

  • Demonstrated success generating new business, converting complex enterprise opportunities and meeting or exceeding sales objectives.

  • Experience selling private markets data, research, workflow or technology solutions, or comparable financial services, investment technology, market data or business-to-business software-as-a-service offerings.

  • Strong knowledge of the Nordic financial services and alternatives landscape, with established regional relationships or a demonstrated ability to build trusted networks.

  • Proven ability to engage senior executives, investment leaders, portfolio professionals and other key decision-makers.

  • Experience navigating consultative sales processes involving multiple stakeholders, long buying cycles and thoughtful commercial negotiation.

  • Strong territory planning, account strategy, pipeline management and forecasting capabilities, with a disciplined and analytical approach to prioritization.

  • An entrepreneurial, collaborative and self-directed approach, with the ability to operate autonomously and effectively within a matrixed organization. Fluent English is required; Danish, Swedish or another Nordic language would be advantageous. Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, together with confidence learning new technologies, will support success in the role.
