Position:              Software Engineer (Job Code: 92341)          

 

Duties:                 Develop software products that perform, scale, and are highly available and fault  tolerant with automated failover capabilities. Create systems that can be easily triaged to find performance bottlenecks and root cause analysis of failure scenarios. Use service-oriented architecture and REST service knowledge to create understandable and automate product deployment mechanisms for development, quality analytics, and production environments. Participate in standard scrum process including daily stand-up meetings, iteration planning, and story grooming, and demonstrate solution design for performance and scalability. Provide software engineering life-cycle ownership of Blackhawk products and technologies. Interface with and influence product architects, product owners, and other stakeholders to create great technical requirements and evaluate solutions, in-house or vendor. Contribute novel ideas and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver and improve Blackhawk software systems. Use relevant technologies such as Bash, SQL, and Groovy to design and implement highly secure and robust platforms. Develop Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud-based transaction-processing solutions using traditional and emerging technologies.

 

Education

Required:             None.

 

Experience

Required:             5 years of experience as Software Engineer, Programmer Analyst, Technical Lead or related occupation.

 

Special

Requirements:     Must have at least 2 years of prior work experience in each of the following:

  • Object-oriented programming using Java, Spring, and MongoDB.
  • Working in at least two of the following AWS environments: AWS EC2, AWS Lambda, AWS RDS, and/or AWS Gateway.
  • Building and deploying apps using the following tools: Jenkins, Git, and AWS.
  • Designing and developing REST services with AWS adopting microservices architecture.
  • Designing performance tests, tools, and tuning applications for scalability and performance.
  • Relational database design and SQL development using MySQL.
  • Developing products in an agile environment using Scrum or Kanban methods.
    • Position permits telecommuting: applicant may reside anywhere in U.S. and reports to Pleasanton, CA office.

     

    Salary:                 $175,000 to $197,690 per year
