About this role

Your Purpose

As an Identity and Access Management Engineer, your primary purpose is to ensure the right individuals have the appropriate access to technology resources across our organization. You will design, implement, and manage robust IAM solutions that safeguard sensitive information while enabling seamless user experiences. Your work will be crucial in maintaining the balance between security and accessibility, helping to protect our digital assets from unauthorized access and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. By collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will help drive the development and execution of IAM strategies that support our business goals and enhance our overall security posture.

Who You Are

  • 4+ years of experience as an IAM Security Engineer or any related role.
  • Strong hands-on experience working with Okta.
  • Strong hands-on experience working with AWS IAM: Demonstrated proficiency in designing, implementing, and managing Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions within AWS.
  • Strong experience working with IaC tools (e.g. Terraform).
  • Strong experience in automation with any scripting language like Bash, Python, Perl, etc.
  • Strong experience working with Security frameworks, preferably focused on Cloud.
  • Strong knowledge of authentication and authorization protocols such as SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect, LDAP, etc.
  • Familiarity with security standards and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, ISO27001, NIST).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex IAM issues.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams to implement IAM strategies and solutions.
  • Ability to work autonomously, taking initiative and ownership of projects with minimal supervision, while being accountable and self-driven.
  • Due to the nature of this role, you will be expected to participate in on-call schedules and respond promptly whenever an incident arises.

What You Will Do

  • Design, implement, and manage IAM solutions to ensure secure and efficient access to technology resources.
  • Develop and enforce IAM policies and procedures to maintain compliance with security standards and regulations.
  • Perform regular audits and assessments of IAM systems to identify and address potential vulnerabilities and risks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate IAM solutions with existing applications and infrastructure.
  • Automate and streamline IAM processes using scripting and programming languages to improve efficiency and reduce manual efforts.
  • Monitor and manage user access and privileges, ensuring appropriate access levels are maintained and unauthorized access is prevented.
  • Provide technical support and expertise for IAM-related issues, troubleshooting and resolving complex problems as they arise.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest IAM trends and technologies, recommending and implementing improvements to enhance security and user experience.
