About this role

Join Bild AI as a Founding Engineer to redefine how the construction industry handles blueprint reading, cost estimation, and permit applications. As part of a small, early-stage team, you'll leverage the latest computer vision and AI techniques to build product experiences that drive faster, more accurate decision-making from day one.

What youll do

  • Build beautiful, intuitive UIs that surface computer vision model outputs for end users.
  • Tackle complex geometries, streaming systems, and design sophisticated user interactions.
  • Rapidly ship initial prototypes and continuously refine them based on real user feedback.

What Bild AI is looking for

  • Demonstrated experience taking products from 0 to 1, preferably with proven traction or paying customers.
  • Strong frontend foundation in React and TypeScript coupled with full-stack engineering abilities.
  • Solid CS fundamentals; an exceptional project portfolio can stand in for formal education.
  • Proficiency in Python and a knack for solving open-ended, math-oriented problems.
  • Experience as a founding engineer or early employee at an early-stage startup.
  • Commitment to in-person collaboration in San Francisco five days a week.
  • Familiarity with construction, real estate, or PDF workflows is a plus.
  • Outstanding communication skills defined by empathy and honesty.
  • Bonus points for prior founder experience, a construction background, or an impact-driven mindset.
  • Exceptional new graduates who are quick learners with strong hustle are also encouraged to apply.
