JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Systems Administrator, they become an integral part of the corporate IT team, responsible for overseeing and optimizing the IT infrastructure across nine locations in the greater Austin area. Their technical expertise and proactive approach are invaluable in maintaining the reliability and security of the IT environment, supporting the organization's continued growth.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES 

  1. Maintenance / administration of:

    1. MS Windows 2016/2019 Servers and Active Directory environment

    2. LAN / WAN / Wireless network infrastructure

    3. Corporate phone systems

    4. Design of system backups / recovery

    5. Cloud based services i.e Google Workspace

    6. Software licensing

  2.  Addresses end user service requests

  3. Creation / removal of end user accounts including Active Directory, Google Workspace and Phone/Voicemail setup.

  4. PC hardware / software installation and maintenance.

  5. Develop / streamline IT procedures for frequently performed tasks

  6. Troubleshoots printer / copier issues.

  7. Checks backup reports on a daily basis.

  8. Ensures data is protected and reports and remediates anomalies.

  9. Maintains IT department documentation i.e inventory, diagrams, site information.

  10. Develop and create standardized work instructions for tasks that department associates would use.

  11. Generate reports for management.

  12. Performs other IT related duties as requested.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE 

Required

  1. Must reside within the Austin, TX metro area as travel to local offices is occasionally required.

  2. 2-3 Years experience in Windows Systems Administration.

  3. Understand networking, TCP/IP, switch configurations and firewall settings.

  4. Experienced in Active Directory administration.

  5. Windows Server administration in an SMB environment.

  6. Active Directory management, group policy, security groups.

  7. End user support expertise.

  8. Networking knowledge including interior routing protocols, switching and subnetting, VLANS, and switch configuration.

  9. Familiarity with troubleshooting up the OSI model

Preferred

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology

  2. Experience with Ubiquiti Firewalls and switches.

  3. Practical scripting and automation experience.

  4. Knowledge of WIFI principals and deployment methodology.

  5. Google workspace administration.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS 

The employee is routinely required to sit frequently, use a keyboard, mouse, telephone, headset, and other standard office equipment.  Frequently communicate via text, email, phone, chat and video. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Works near others, usually within a few feet. 

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK    

The core hours of work are Monday – Friday with an 8-hour work shift between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. This is a Hybrid position: 2 days in the office and 3 days work from home. This role requires the employee to commute to office and/or care center locations for staff meetings and events, as required. Occasional travel to recruitment, training, conferences or presentation events.
