About this role

Main Responsibilities:

  • Opens a sling of sheets, into an empty buggy.
  • Feeds the sheets to the feeder spreader
  • Opens a sling of pillowcases/napkins, into an empty buggy.
  • Feeds pillowcases/napkins into the ironer.
  • Feeds the small piece folders by opening a sling into an empty buggy.
  • Empties washcloths into an airlift buggy from a sling.
  • Stacks and places washed clothes on the conveyor.
  • The sheets will be automatically "ejected" onto a conveyor to go to the "packer" for loading and shipping.
  • Hangs robes on hangers and places them on the feed bar of the steam tunnel. 
  • Places the finished robes from the steam tunnel in a buggy for shipping.
  • Prepares sheets and table linens for finishing through the ironer. Feeds, folds count and stacks all linens through the ironer and folder in a way that ensures proper finishing while maintaining standards rates of production. 
  • Prepares, feeds, folds, counts and stacks all line items through the small piece folder in a way that ensures proper finishing while maintaining standard rates of production. 
  •  Sorts linen in its various categories for washing. 
  • Starts, stops regulated speed and adjust for proper folding and size of all laundry finishing equipment. 
  • Hand folds, stacks, and counts linen in a way that ensures proper finishing while maintaining standards rates of production. 
  • Checks all linens for wear, tears and stains put such items into receptacles provided. 
  • Loads weight and assemble linen carts ready for delivery to the user areas. 
  • Records all items processed on an hourly basis. 
  • Maintains a clean, safe and orderly work area and immediately reports any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the immediate Manager or the Assistant Laundry Manager. 
  • Attends training and meetings as directed by the Laundry Manager or Management. 
  • Adheres to rules of conduct and company policies. 
  • Performs any other duties assigned by management as required
  • The Company operates a twenty-four (24), hour, seven (7) days a week business. Therefore, it may be necessary to change the accustomed shifts, at times, as the business demands.

    Qualifications:

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent qualifications
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment
  • Detail oriented
  • Able to work flexible hours  
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties associated with the position.  
  • Ability to operate related equipment  
  • Ability to organize work.
