Human Resources Assistant – Recruiting & Onboarding
ASGCO® Manufacturing, Inc. is a leading manufacturer of conveyor equipment and components and a turnkey service provider to the aggregates, cement, mining, recycling, bulk shipping, and other bulk material handling industries.
We are seeking a motivated, resourceful, and highly organized Human Resources Assistant to join our team. This position will play an important role in recruiting and onboarding new employees while supporting the day-to-day needs of our Human Resources department.
We are looking for someone who enjoys finding great people-not just waiting for them to apply. The ideal candidate is proactive, personable, creative, and comfortable reaching out to candidates through LinkedIn, job boards, referrals, schools, industry contacts, networking, career events, and other creative recruiting channels.
Key Responsibilities
Recruiting & Onboarding
- Support the full recruiting cycle, from identifying candidates through offer, hire, and onboarding.
- Proactively source active and passive candidates using LinkedIn, job boards, social media, referrals, networking, schools, career programs, industry contacts, and other creative methods.
- Develop new strategies for finding qualified candidates for difficult-to-fill positions.
- Conduct candidate outreach and initial phone screenings.
- Review resumes and applications and identify qualified candidates.
- Post open positions and maintain accurate candidate information within the ATS.
- Coordinate interviews and maintain timely communication with candidates and hiring managers.
- Build and maintain candidate pipelines for current and future hiring needs.
- Prepare offer documentation and coordinate pre-employment requirements.
- Participate in job fairs, career events, school outreach, and other recruiting initiatives.
- Coordinate new-hire paperwork, orientation, onboarding, and first-day readiness.
- Enter and maintain employee information in the HRIS and ensure required documentation is complete and accurate.
Human Resources Support
- Maintain confidential employee files and HR records.
- Assist employees with routine HR questions and provide responsive, professional support.
- Support benefits administration, including enrollments and employee changes.
- Prepare HR correspondence, reports, forms, and other documentation.
- Assist with employee recognition programs, company events, and HR initiatives.
- Provide administrative and project support to the Human Resources Manager.
Qualifications
- 2–3 years of Human Resources and/or recruiting experience required.
- Experience with candidate sourcing, LinkedIn recruiting, and proactive candidate outreach strongly preferred.
- Creative and resourceful approach to recruiting, with a willingness to look beyond traditional job postings.
- Experience with full-cycle recruiting, ATS, and/or HRIS systems preferred.
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Excellent organization, follow-through, time management, and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and sound judgment.
- Dependable, self-motivated, positive, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
