JOB TITLE: Expeditor 

DEPARTMENT: Upholstery Shipping 

FLSA: Non-Exempt HOURLY Pay

REPORTS TO: Plant Manager 

LOCATION: Plant #5

SCHEDULE: Monday Thursday 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. & Friday 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Overtime may be required beyond the posted work schedule and may vary on a weekly basis

SUMMARY:

Position provides all aspects of being the liaison between customer service, plant production/manufacturing, purchasing and shipping. Providing accurate information regarding order status details, locating orders, assist the through-put of orders and expediting orders that need immediate attention.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Communicating between customer service and manufacturing 

  • Notifying manufacturing departments and customer service of any delays in the manufacturing process 
  • Work close with purchasing and receiving to expedite missing or late supplies that may hold up a completion of an order on time 
  • Updating information in the AS400 system 
  • Providing status updates to Plant Manager/Assistant Plant Manager
  • All other duties as assigned


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Effective communication skills 

  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with continuous interruptions 
  • Able to organize workload for timely accomplishment of work/deadlines 
  • Possess strong office skills including use of computer, run and create reports 
  • Knowledge of furniture manufacturing from beginning to end process understanding the production flow 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Ability to work a full-time schedule
  • Ability to stand, bend, twist, and perform repetitive movements throughout the workday
  • Ability to stand for a minimum of 10 hours per day
