We embrace creativity and collaboration, and we engage stakeholders in new and creative ways to build brands and reputations.

Senior Manager, Influencer Strategy

About the Role

Weber Shandwick is looking for a Senior Manager to join our Social and Influencer Strategy team in New York. We are looking for an experienced influencer marketing professional with 5–7 years of relevant experience and a deep understanding of the evolving influencer and social landscape.

The ideal candidate will have proven expertise developing and leading integrated and influencer-led campaigns, from strategic planning and talent identification through execution, optimization, and measurement. This individual will serve as a strategic counselor to clients, lead key workstreams across multiple accounts, and help guide and develop junior team members.

Candidates should bring a strong understanding of the influencer ecosystem as well as unique experience developing and executing both earned-led brand programs and influencer-led campaigns. The Senior Manager should be equally comfortable setting strategy, advising clients, managing complex programs, and rolling up their sleeves to ensure excellent execution.

The Essentials

Experience: 5–7 years of related experience in influencer marketing, social strategy, integrated communications, PR, or a related field.

Strategic Thinking: Intellectual curiosity, creativity, and the ability to translate cultural, consumer, social, and influencer insights into actionable strategies.

Storytelling: Understand what makes a story compelling, what influencers and brands are doing across social platforms and in the press, and identify what they should do next.

Leadership: Demonstrate the ability to lead programs and workstreams, provide direction to junior team members, and maintain accountability for high-quality deliverables.

Detail-Oriented: Whether it’s a client proposal, influencer brief, contract, strategic recommendation, or campaign recap, maintain exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to clear, precise work.

Communication: Speak, write, edit, and present succinctly and compellingly, adapting communication for clients, internal teams, influencers, agents, and other stakeholders.

Management: Effectively manage competing priorities, deadlines, budgets, staffing needs, and unexpected challenges in a fast-paced environment.

Interpersonal: Build strong relationships and collaborate effectively across teams while also demonstrating confidence working independently.

Technical: Strong knowledge of influencer management systems, social listening platforms, analytics, and social tracking tools.

Responsibilities

Brand Strategy & Execution

Lead day-to-day strategic and executional responsibilities across multiple programs spanning consumer brand and technology clients, with accountability for plans, budgets, timelines, and overall quality.

Serve as a trusted resource and advisor to clients, providing proactive recommendations informed by cultural trends, audience insights, platform behaviors, and the evolving influencer landscape.

Lead the development of integrated influencer and social strategies that connect client objectives to meaningful consumer and tech opportunities.

Partner closely with cross-functional teams, including strategy, creative, earned and social media to ensure alignment and integration across programs.

Develop and refine messaging, strategic recommendations, presentations, proposals, and campaign plans.

Partner with project management counterparts to oversee budgets, hours, expenses, staffing allocations, and overall program profitability.

Influencer Strategy & Execution

Demonstrate deep knowledge of and passion for influencer marketing, creator culture, social platforms, and emerging trends.

Oversee influencer research, vetting, contracting, and end-to-end talent relations, including complex contract negotiations, usage rights, exclusivity, paid amplification, and multi-channel deliverables.

Provide strategic oversight of influencer briefings and content development, ensuring creator content remains authentic while delivering against brand objectives and campaign strategy.

Manage relationships with influencers, talent managers, agents, platforms, and third-party partners, serving as a senior point of contact when needed.

Oversee campaign performance and measurement, evaluate results against established KPIs, and translate data into meaningful insights and recommendations for clients.

Demonstrate expertise in influencer tools and platforms, user behaviors, platform algorithms, emerging platforms, and trends.

Monitor platform-specific conversations and sentiment shifts, leveraging social listening tools to identify emerging opportunities and potential reputational risks before they gain broader media traction.

Use campaign learnings and broader industry insights to continually evolve influencer strategies and recommend new approaches to clients.

Client & Team Leadership

Own day-to-day client relationships for assigned accounts and workstreams, serving as a trusted and solutions-oriented partner.

Lead client meetings, presentations, reports and strategic discussions, confidently presenting recommendations and responding to questions and feedback.

Provide proactive counsel to clients rather than solely responding to assignments, identifying opportunities to strengthen programs and advance business objectives.

Oversee the development of client-facing materials, ensuring strategic rigor, accuracy, clarity, and consistency before delivery.

Manage and mentor junior team members, providing clear direction, actionable feedback, and opportunities for professional growth.

Delegate effectively across account teams while maintaining accountability for deadlines, quality, and client expectations.

Coordinate team resources and deliverables for major campaigns, product launches, and high-priority client initiatives.

Contribute to a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team culture while helping establish best practices and raise the quality of influencer strategy work across the organization.
