Project Information:
ACCIONA is part of CoastalTraX, delivering the greenfield works for Stage 1 of The Wave: 19 kilometres of dual-track passenger rail between Beerwah and Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast. Backed by $5.5 billion in joint government funding, the project forms part of Queensland's infrastructure pipeline ahead of Brisbane 2032 and is now in design and preconstruction.
About the Opportunity:
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will own contract administration across Stage 1 of The Wave. Lead subcontract procurement from scope development through to award, and administer the head contract to protect the project's position. Work with the Construction Manager to manage progress claims, variations and extension of time claims, and build proforma agreements to govern subcontracting for the project. Joining at design and preconstruction stage, you will help shape commercial processes used across delivery of a major Sunshine Coast rail project.
Key accountabilities for the position will be:
- Lead subcontract procurement, from scope development through to award
- Administer the head contract to protect the project's commercial position
- Manage progress claims, variations and extension of time claims
- Develop proforma subcontract agreements for use across the project
- Monitor budgets and cost coding, and flag any risk of over-run
- Maintain the filing and document control systems for the commercial team
- Liaise with the Construction Manager and site team on contractual matters
Required Skills and Competencies
What capability and experience will you need to have:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in commercial or construction
- Extensive experience administering contracts on major projects
- Strong Excel and MS Office skills for commercial reporting
- Current White Card and Australian driver's licence
- Experience managing progress claims and variation claims
