. This on-site contract role within our Medical Practice offers a rewarding opportunity to work as a Hospitalist in Internal Medicine, providing high-quality, patient-centered care in a dynamic healthcare environment.
In this associate-level position, you will manage and coordinate care for hospitalized patients, collaborating closely with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive internal medicine services. You will play a key role in diagnosing, treating, and supporting patients throughout their hospital stay, contributing directly to positive patient outcomes and the overall success of our medical practice.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for hospitalized patients.
- Manage and coordinate care for patients in the Internal Medicine and Hospitalist units.
- Collaborate with attending physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within the scope of practice for NP or PA.
- Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests and laboratory results.
- Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
- Document patient care accurately, completely, and in a timely manner within the electronic health record.
- Participate in hospital rounds, case discussions, and care coordination meetings.
- Ensure compliance with medical practice standards, protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies and provide urgent care as needed within the hospital setting.
Requirements
- Current and valid Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) license in the applicable jurisdiction.
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
- Associate-level experience in a hospitalist, internal medicine, or acute care setting.
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient and team collaboration.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, on-site hospital environment.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems and medical documentation.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality, evidence-based, patient-centered care.
- Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Flexibility to handle contract assignment requirements and adapt to varying patient care demands.
Schedule: 2p-2a
Patient Volume: 20-25 admissions per night
Duties: Admissions and cross-cover for acute issues on the floor
Support Staff: MD on call, APPs
Must be board-certified or board-eligible
