Description
This Associate-level, contract position offers an on-site work arrangement within a thriving medical practice environment. As a key member of our radiology team, you will provide essential diagnostic imaging services that directly impact patient care and treatment decisions.
In this role, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary group of healthcare professionals to deliver accurate, timely interpretations of imaging studies and help guide clinical pathways. Your expertise will support a wide range of cases across multiple modalities, contributing to the high standard of care our medical practice is known for. This position is ideal for a physician seeking the flexibility of locum tenens work while remaining fully integrated into a supportive, clinically focused environment.
Responsibilities
- Interpret diagnostic imaging studies, including X-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound, and fluoroscopy, with accuracy and efficiency
- Provide preliminary and final reports in a timely manner to support clinical decision-making
- Collaborate with referring physicians and other healthcare providers to discuss findings aand recommend appropriate follow-up studies
- Perform image-guided procedures as needed, ensuring patient safety and comfort
- Document all interpretations and findings clearly in electronic medical records
- Adhere to radiation safety protocols and infection control standards at all times
- Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences and clinical meetings to contribute expert radiological insights
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and clinical staff regarding imaging results and procedures
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of advances in radiology and diagnostic techniques
- Follow all organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements governing medical practice
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
- Active, unrestricted medical license with the ability to practice in the relevant jurisdiction
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Radiology
- Associate-level experience in radiology or a closely related specialty
- Proficiency in interpreting a broad range of diagnostic imaging modalities
- Strong clinical judgment and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work on-site in Bronx County on a contract basis
- Comfort working in a fast-paced medical practice environment
- Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration with referring physicians and clinical staff
- BLS/ACLS certification is preferred
- Fellowship training or subspecialty expertise (e.g., neuroradiology, musculoskeletal, body imaging) is a plus
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8a-5p
No call requirement
