Description



. This is an associate-level, contract, on-site position ideal for a physician who is available to cover radiation oncology services while delivering high-quality patient care.



In this role, you will be responsible for providing expert radiation oncology consultations, developing treatment plans, and overseeing the delivery of radiation therapy. Working as part of a multidisciplinary care team, you will coordinate closely with oncologists, physicists, radiation therapists, and nursing staff to ensure continuity of care and optimal outcomes for patients.



Responsibilities



  • Provide locum tenens radiation oncology coverage for scheduled and urgent patient care needs.
  • Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including history, physical examination, and review of diagnostic imaging.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized radiation treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary oncology team to ensure coordinated patient management.
  • Review simulation, dosimetry,and treatment delivery parameters to ensure accuracy.
  • Document all patient encounters clearly and in compliance with medical practice standards.
  • Communicate treatment goals, risks,and alternatives to patients and their families.
  • Participate in tumor boards, clinical discussions,and quality assurance activities.
  • Respond promptly to on-site consult requests and patient care issues.
  • Adhere to all applicable medical, ethical,and safety protocols.


Requirements



  • Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine(DO) degree.
  • Associate-level experience in radiation oncology or a related oncology field.
  • Eligibility for medical licensure or registration to practice in the location of the assignment.
  • Strong clinical knowledge of radiation therapy principles and treatment planning.
  • Ability to work on-site in Athens for the duration of the contract.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient and team interaction.
  • Ability to manage multiple patient cases in a fast-paced medical practice environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and professional standards.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records(EMR) systems.
  • Demonstrated collaborative approach within a multidisciplinary care team.


Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8a-5p



No call requirement



Patient Census: 20 per day



EMR: Epic



Must be board-certified
