Description



This on-site, contract position is ideal for an Associate-level physician seeking to provide expert neurological care within a dynamic Medical Practice environment.



As a Locum Neurologist, you will evaluate and treat patients with a broad range of neurological conditions, develop effective care plans, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care. This role offers meaningful clinical autonomy,and the opportunity to contribute directly to patient outcomes in a supportive, patient-centered practice.



Responsibilities



  • Provide locum neurology coverage on-site in Omaha
  • Perform comprehensive neurological evaluations, histories, and physical examinations
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic neurological conditions
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as EEG, EMG, MRI, and CT scans
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and prescribe appropriate therapies
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to optimize patient care
  • Document patient encounters accurately and promptly in electronic medical records
  • Communicate diagnoses, prognoses, and treatment options clearly to patients and families
  • Participate in on-call coverage and emergency neurological consultations as needed
  • Adhere to clinical protocols, safety standards, and evidence-based best practices
  • Support continuity of care during patient transitions and follow-up visits


Requirements



  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)) degree
  • Active, unrestricted medical license or eligibility for licensure
  • Associate-level experience in neurology or a related clinical setting
  • Strong diagnostic, clinical reasoning, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to manage a wide variety of neurological disorders
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR)) systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
  • Commitment to patient-centered, evidence-based medical care
  • Flexibility to fulfill a contract, on-site schedule in Omaha


Level I Trauma Center



Schedule: 24-hour call coverage, specific dates



Average Daily Admissions Per Provider: 1



Average Daily ICU Patients Per Provider: 2



Required Procedures: Thrombectomy, coiling, diagnostic cerebral angiogram, and flow diversion



Must be board-certified



BLS and DEA required
