Description
This is an associate-level, contract, on-site position within the Medical Practice industry. In this role, you will provide high-quality emergency medical care to patients while working as a locum tenens physician. We offer a competitive compensation package with a yearly salary interval, paid in USD.
As a Locum MD (Medical Doctor, DO (Osteopathic Doctor) Emergency Medicine, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with acute medical conditions in a fast-paced emergency environment. You will collaborate with nurses, specialists, and support staff to ensure timely and effective patient care, while maintaining accurate medical records and adhering to clinical protocols.
Responsibilities
- Provide emergency medical care to patients presenting with acute illnesses, injuries, and urgent medical conditions
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including history taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic interpretations
- Develop and implement patient treatment plans in accordance with evidence-based guidelines
- Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic procedures
- Stabilize critically ill or injured patients and coordinate emergency interventions
- Collaborate with emergency department nurses, specialists, and allied health professionals to optimize patient care
- Document patient encounters accurately and promptly in electronic medical records (EMR)
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, medical regulations, and patient safety standards
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and follow-up care
- Participate in emergency department quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits as needed
- Provide on-site coverage for emergency medicine shifts, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations as required
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school
- Valid, unrestricted medical license to practice emergency medicinein Clinton
- Board certification or board eligibilityin Emergency Medicine
- Associate-level experience in emergency medicineor equivalent clinical experience
- Current certificationsin BLS, ACLS, ATLS, and PALS as required
- Strong clinical reasoning, diagnostic, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work effectivelyin high-pressure, fast-paced emergency environments
- Excellent communicationand interpersonal skills for interacting with patients, families, and team members
- Proficiency with electronic medical records(EMR) systems and standard emergency medicine equipment
- Flexibility to work contract, on-site shifts including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call coverage
Schedule: 7a-7p or 7p-7a, specific dates
Average Daily Volume: 90-100 patients, seeing ~18-20 per shift
Average Annual Volume: 32K patients
Open ICU onsite
Support Staff: Midlevels
EMR: Meditech 6.1
Must be board-certified
