As a Locum Cardiology physician, you will play a vital role in diagnosing and treating patients with cardiovascular conditions, working alongside a collaborative team of healthcare professionals. Your expertise will directly impact patient outcomes and the continued success of our practice.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive cardiology assessment, diagnosis, and treatment
- Interpret diagnostic tests such as ECG, echocardiograms, and stress tests
- Develop and implement patient care plans
- Collaborate with primary care physicians and specialists
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatments as needed
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records
- Educate patients and families on cardiovascular health and prevention
- Participate in on-call rotations as required
- Ensure compliance with medical standards and regulations
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives
- Stay current with advancements in cardiology and locum tenens best practices
Requirements
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
- Board certification or eligibility in Cardiology
- Active, unrestricted medical license as an MD or DO
- Associate level clinical experience in cardiology or related field
- Strong diagnostic and clinical reasoning skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to providing compassionate, evidence-based care
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Ability to manage a varied caseload in an on-site setting
- Flexibility to work contract-based schedules
- Dedication to continuous learning and professional development
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8a-5p
No call required
Setting: Outpatient
Duties: New consults, follow-ups, transfer-of-care visits, and ECG interpretation
Support Staff: MA, RN, and echo techs
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified
ACLS, BLS, and DEA required
